Anyone have any info? I don't see any correlation to the CT ones whatsoever. I have an AA-14-1 (018640 ) and an Academy KA-14 (014508 ). I read somewhere the Academy was made in 1978 only, which may help date other Moosup guitars as either pre or post 78.

If that's true. I emailed Ovation a few months ago and they were very hazy recalling the Academy series and didn't have any info to offer.

I don't know specifically when they moved production to Korea; all I know is I tried one of the Korean ones in a music store in the fall of '84 so it must have been some time before that. Applause started in 76 and ended in 82-83. Academy was probably a little later, like 79, and ran for a couple of years. 100,000 total from Moosup is about right.
